MSc, MA, BCBA
Board Certified Behaviour Analyst
I am a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). I obtained my BA in Psychology and Pedagogy from the UPN (Universidad Pedagogica Nacional) and a PGDip in Language Pedagogy from Universidad El Bosque in Bogota, Colombia. I lived in the USA while studying English, and then I moved to the UK, and obtained a Master's degree (MSc) in Social Psychology from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). After having my children, I completed a Master's degree (MA) in Behaviour Analytic Psychology from the University of Reno, Nevada (UNR) acquiring supervision through the Institute of Effective Behavioral Interventions (IEBI, USA) whilst working with children with autism.
As well as my most recent training, I have over 20 years of experience working with children and parents in supportive roles. I have developed early interventions and programmes (having received training in the UK Early Years Curriculum) to target the skills needed for school readiness in all areas of development (physical, social/emotional, communication and language, etc.). I have worked with children with autism as well as with neurotypical children who just needed a more focused approach to improve their learning. Finally, I have worked closely with parents, which is currently one of the central aspects of my work, as I am acutely aware of the difficulties and added pressure and stress that parenting challenges bring to parents' daily lives.
I am a mother of two teenagers and as a mum, I felt many times stuck, not knowing what to do, or how I could best support my children in their struggles (socially, emotionally, academically, etc.). Countless times, I wished I had a professional guidance to discuss and address my concerns and worries, whilst trying to balance home and work responsibilities. I have the unique training and experience to provide parents the tailored support they need. My purpose is to empower parents with empathy, compassion, and the most effective strategies for their children to thrive, as they become the parent they want to be.
